Berkeley Center for New Media
For two years, I worked as a Communications Assistant at the Berkeley Center for New Media, a university research center focused on the cross-disciplinary and global perspectives in the growing field of new media. While I primarily focused on social media and website copywriting, I also created a couple Instagram-friendly online flyers for events we were hosting. Branding for the Center was an important topic we discussed as a team (ex. set color schemes and typeface) but we decided to keep our guidelines lose to allow for more eccentric designs and colors to better fit our new media focus and the unique and cutting-edge nature of many of the talks, events, and other programming we put on as a Center.
During some events, I provided on-hand assistance on Zoom and live-updated the Center’s Instagram stories to keep our audience updated with our events and publicize their occurrence.
